Ada Drawstring Bucket and Summer Pattern Releases, plus some exciting news

|

Hello everyone! It has been a busy summer here and I haven’t stopped by this blog at all, in spite of my best laid plans. I’m beginning to really feel life as a meme about apologizing for being busy until I die. However, with a few minor setbacks, it was a fun summer, and the first one in the last three that we didn’t move, so it was packed full of sewing, adventures, family visits, and house projects. For the first time since February of 2020, I also released some new patterns, with today being the release of the latest, the Ada Drawstring Bucket!

This fun drawstring bag features a divider which helps it stand on its own and keeps the contents organized. The drawstring top folds over for use as a fabric basket or closed to keep things secure. I really enjoyed designing this bag and will use it often for organizing a variety of things! The divider keeps things organized, without the bag becoming a bottomless pit. I originally designed the tiny version because I was constantly digging through my wonder clips when sewing binding, trying to find the scissors and thread gloss, which always sank to the bottom.

Now, I can keep the scissors, thimble, thread, and other binding tools on one side, and my clips on the other! It worked as such a great solution, I added two larger sizes for other projects as well! Oh, and this sweet trio is available at a discount through 10/11, so get your copy now!

I never finished my blog posts for my other two pattern releases, but if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, or if you receive my newsletter (sign up here!) you have already seen these, but I wanted them to have a home on the blog too. The first up is my Rosa Supply Case.

This handy case is a perfect companion for hand sewing, pencils, knitting supplies, or anything else you might want to carry with you. It also happens to be the perfect size for passports!

Finally, I released my Chloe Messenger Bag pattern. This pattern was specifically designed for cork fabric, but includes directions to modify the pattern for canvas. If you’ve never used cork fabric before, it’s much easier than I had thought it would be and is now one of my favorite bag making materials.

If you’ve made it to the bottom of this post, I also have one final announcement, I’m working on something totally new, a sewing club. I have been feeling a lot of social media fatigue lately, as evidenced by the sigh of relief I felt when Instagram and Facebook disappeared on Monday. I know I’m not the only one who kind of hoped they might not come back.

However, I was also sad because I do love the community we get to experience on Social Media, though lately that has seemed a little overrun with TikTok like videos, making it harder for people to get seen without investing a ton of time. So, I’ve been working over the last few months on creating a place where we can socialize and designing patterns that will be exclusive as well! If you’d like to learn more, click here to be added to the mailing list and get the details as they’re released!

I hope you all have a great weekend and I’ll be back to blogging a little more regularly too!
