Beginner EPP #sewspreadsomelove

|

Today I wanted to share some English Paper Piecing info with you! In response to social distancing, I’m sharing EPP with friends who don’t have a big stash of fabric like I do, because having something to work on at home really makes all this staying in easier to manage!

I filmed a video on how I glue and sew EPP shapes. When I’m working with shapes that have 1” sides or smaller I prefer to thread baste because I find it easier to get the paper out, I use the same method that Nicole of Modern Handcraft uses, you can find her video here. And, Jodi of Tales of Cloth has lots of great information too!

Here are the supplies I filled my bags with:

I also made a needle book for each lady using Heidi of Fabric Mutt‘s free tutorial for her Pocket Mending Book. I added a magnetic needle landing (you can find my tutorial here) to the inside of each book and a ribbon to hold the bobbin too.

I packed all these supplies with a bunch of scraps in these cute Ruby+Cash reusable bags I found at Target. I’m hoping this brings some joy to social distancing in my friends’ lives.

I’ve got another project to share for kids this time in the next few days too! I had been feeling stretched a little thin for the past few months, so I have been enjoying resting a little more than usual, but I’m not sure how long the feeling will last! How are you passing the time these days?

  1. What a lovely parcel. You’ve thought of everything and put it together with such beauty. I hadn’t seen the post about how to put the magnet in the needle books–brilliant! I’m off to see if I have a magnet around the house ready to use. I’ve got three kiddos here at home and we will look forward to your next project:) Thank you.
