Tote and Book Sleeves for Citrus & Mint Pemberley Blog Tour with Riley Blake Designs
Have you seen the new Pemberley fabric by Citrus & Mint Designs? It combines my love of fabric and of classic literature perfectly! When I saw it I thought it was dreamy, but when my dear friend text me a photo saying how much she loved it too, I knew I need to make her some projects with it. And what better to make with book inspired fabric than book sleeves?
I could not help but photograph it with my copy of Pride & Prejudice that I’ve had since I was a teenager and spent all my babysitting money on hardbound copies of my favorite books.
The small sleeve fits this dainty copy perfectly (and is also sized for trade paperback books).
And the large size is great for hardbound books, larger paperbacks, or an iPad. I added the tab closure and fussy cut the Pemberley house to showcase it!
But, of course, all book lovers need a good tote to carry all those books, so I made a cork tote to go with them.
I took this one out on our trip to Great Falls National Park this weekend (I know my friend won’t mind!), and I’m always impressed with how a cork tote can carry while still feeling lightweight (I even have a metal water bottle in this one!).
I just loved the Ball fabric from the line, and it made a perfect lining for this bag too!
I really enjoyed sewing with Pemberley and it should be available in shops now! And, you can find the Katie Book Sleeve and the Clara Cork Tote PDF patterns in my shop too. Happy bookish sewing!
