Easy Pillow Cover with Hidden Zipper Class
I made my Pixelated Present Quilt Block (free tutorial here) into a pillow, to help make my home festive for Christmas!
For the back, I put a zipper under a little flap. This is my new favorite zipper installation. It’s easy and I even sew it with my regular sewing machine foot. Instead of making a photo tutorial, I’ve created a video class on Skillshare, where I walk you through the zipper installation step by step. I’m excited about this new platform and am hoping to make regular additions to my class offerings. I admit, I was surprised how much time and effort it took to create the videos, but it was fun to really demonstrate how to install the zipper.
I also finally bought a down alternative pillow insert for this one, and it is so fluffy, I’m going to start replacing all my pillows with them! I thought you’d like to see a side view, doesn’t it just look cozy?
My class is no longer available on Skillshare due to video requirement changes, so you can now find it for free on youtube! Check out Part 1 here and Part 2 here (it was too long to squeeze into one video!)
I hope you’ll take a minute to hop over to my Skillshare class, you can sign up for three months of premium for just $.99 using my referral link. With a premium membership you have access to hundreds of classes, not just mine, so it really is worth considering if you’d like to learn something new (I am considering taking some of the other art classes, there are so many options!).
As 2016 comes to a close, I’d also love to hear about what you’d most like to see from Clover & Violet in the new year: new patterns, fabric pulls, specific tutorials, let me know what is on your wishlist so I can get planning!
Your work is always top-notch. A beautiful pillow case and I love the hidden zipper.
