Lovely Little Patchwork :: Book Review
My friend Kerri from Sew Deerly Loved recently had her first book published, Lovely Little Patchwork. I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy from the publisher {though, the book is in stores now!}. I really enjoyed looking through this cute book, it has so many sweet projects, and most of them are also small enough to be made up in an afternoon or two.
One of the projects was a paper pieced tulip and dandelion mini quilt. Since I was participating in a flower themed swap, I made one of the tulips for a project. The pattern pieces are in the back of the book, so they have to be photocopied, and this particular one needed to be enlarged as well. Since my printer also makes copies, I had no trouble with making a copy. The actual pieces of the flower sewed up in lightening speed.
Instead of making the table runner that was the book project, I sewed the flower into a little drawstring bag {I used this tutorial, really easy!}. I thought it turned out really cute, and hope to make up the whole tulip mini quilt soon.
I really found this book delightful. If you want to see more of the projects from the book that others have made, check out the hashtag #lovelylittlepatchwork on Instagram.
I hope your week is off to a great start! I’m off to try and get a little sewing done, what are you making this week?
