Mini Mania QAL :: Hopscotch
This is a Mini Mania Quilt Along post, see the main page here!
This mini quilt marks the half way point in the Mini Mania Quilt Along that I’m doing along with Chrissy at Sew Lux Fabric. This month’s mini is a modified churn dash block with cute friendship stars along the edge. Now, let me just be honest, I had the hardest time cutting the modified portions of the blocks using the templates. Fortunately, Chrissy is a genius and has a great cutting alternative on her post.
Template cutting aside, I thought this mini turned out really cute. The navy print in the center of all the squares is one of my favorite Vintage Picnic prints, so I loved using it for all the center squares.
I quilted with wavy lines, because it is so easy and I just love the look. I also used the same aqua Aurifil I used for the Leap Frog Mini.
And here’s a peek at the mini quilt in its new home. Admittedly, I cleared a lot of extra stuff off the dresser, but it looks really cute with a mini quilt runner. If you’d like to make a mini just like this, you can find kits at Sew Lux. And take a minute to check out Chrissy’s mini too, so cute, I want to make one like it too! And, as always, you can just sew along with us using your stash too. If you do, we’d love for you to share on social media with the tag #minimaniaqal
P.S. The baskets in my last photo are from a tutorial I did with Sew Lux years ago, you can find it here.
So pretty! Everything you sew always looks so cheerful. ๐
This is really sweet. x
I wish I could join but I didn’t get the book in time, love the projects, Lorraine Isaac
