Glisten Quilt Along :: Cutting
{A quick note about cutting from FE. I have created a FE cutting diagram for anyone interested. Just reply to you receipt and I’ll send it over!}
Now, a few cutting tips for you.
First, I found it easiest to cut 3-4 layer cake pieces at a time.
I cut first with the 3 pieces stacked into wider strips.
Then I un-stacked the strip and laid the fabrics in a row, and cut the smaller segments through only one layer of fabric.
I used this same method for the smaller pieces as well, keeping them only one layer.
I’ll admit though, as I was finishing up, I cut all the pieces 3 layers of fabric thick. After I was familiar with the cutting, there was less shifting.
And, here are all my pieces sorted by which part of the block they make. I’ll be keeping two of these plastic containers, one for the colored pieces of the blocks and one for the white portion.
