Looking Forward to 2015
The new year is one of my favorite times. We’ve just finished the mad dash that is the holidays {especially with three little ones!} and everything seems fresh and new. Since it’s also during winter, I feel like there’s lots of extra time to think about things, because I rarely go out in the cold {see note above!}. I love the idea of choosing a word for the year, rather than setting specific, potentially easy to break, goals
Last year my word was “relax”. I wanted to slow down, enjoy things more, and be less stressed. Honestly, I’m not too sure how well I accomplished it, but I decided that a good follow-on goal for this year would be “focus”.
My goal with “focus” is to be more careful with what I spend my energy on, and to give my full attention to those things. I want my children to feel like my time with them is focused on them. I want my goals to fall in line with a larger goal. And I want my sewing and fabric acquiring to be based on things I love, just what I feel like I ought to sew.
I am hoping this will help me waste less time and enjoy the things I’m doing more. I don’t have too many specific plans yet, but I will share how this shapes up as the year goes on! Thanks for following along on this continued journey and I look forward to new and exciting things for 2015!
Do you make resolutions or choose a word of the year? I’d love to hear about what you have planned for the year ahead!
I choose a word for the year as well. I love this way of creating the awareness we seeking about our lives. My word is Evolve this year. xoxo
My word for this year is Optimise. I would like to try and do this in every area of my life. Bless you
I love this! Good luck with your goal.
I like your idea of having a word for the year rather than resolutions. I personally don’t make resolutions because I don’t keep them. The word idea is good though. Nothing specific, but still with a goal in mind.
I have a word too, for the first time. I’m very excited about it too!
Great word and love your heart behind it! My word is similar: intentional. Thanks for sharing.
