Wee Wander Quilt {Top}
I was working on this quilt trying to get it finished before someone turned 1 year old, but did not finish!! I had fun with this cute line of fabric. It is Wee Wander by Sarah Jane. It is a really sweet palette of colors. The bees and the jars are my favorite, my brothers’ and I would collect bees and butterflies and put them in jars when we played outside in our yard growing up. Such fond memories!!
I think the little girl in the top center is such a cute little accident, well not completely. I saw that she was in there and was turned sideways so I turned her around and I am glad that I did.
I made sure to take a picture of the whole quilt top before it was completed. It is the Trip Around the World pattern by Bonnie of Quiltville. Although it is not scrappy, I do love it. I also cut my squares 4 inches rather than the usual 2.5 inches. I think because of the print size it should show a little more than if it were a smaller print. And it also made for a quicker project. There are 12 blocks that make up this top. I did not use some of the larger scale prints because I did not want to lose the beautiful picture. I am sure they will be made into something else, (possibly a pillowcase). But now that I am looking at it, I am thinking about trading the top right block with the bottom right block to even the colors out a little more. Hmm!!
I love this grey dot that I am going to use for the backing. I hope to have it finished soon but with the holidays so close, I am not really going to try to finish before Christmas.
Now to get into full swing of Christmas sewing. I bought some cute new fabric and I am excited to get sewing with that. I would love to hear what you are sewing or making right now, Christmas related or not!!
Have a great week and I LOVE this time of the year!!
Very sweet top Clara! I don’t think I would change anything. I am frantically trying to catch up after being sick for nearly a month. Ugh! I need more days! 😉 Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you Sandie! I am sorry you have been sick that is no fun. Glad you are all better. We had a really bad cold at our house and it seemed to last forever. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Clara
Clara, I love it! I am a huge fan of Sara Jane as you know. Little Lydia has a stroller blanket made from Out to Sea already. I would switch the blocks only because of the more intense colour being more spread out. But whatever you choose to do, it is precious and I know she will treasure it always. Love to all of you this Thanksgiving. We love you and hope to see you soon. XOOXOX
Very nice top. Love the colours.
Beautiful, beautiful Quilt. Just LOVE the soft colors of it!
What a great quilt. I love the fabric you chose for the back.
Lovely mugrug! By changing the fabric you could make one for a birthday.
