Moonlit by Cotton + Steel Mini Quilt
The Felicity bag is finally out to the pattern testers, which has given me a chance to just start catching up on some of my other sewing! The first finish I have for you is this mini quilt made out of Moonlit by Rashida Coleman-Hale for Cotton + Steel, a division of RJR Fabrics.
We have worked with RJR Fabrics for a while {our Anne handbag out of Mary McGuire’s Cold Spring Dreams was our first collaboration and is still one of our best selling patterns!}, so it was exciting to see the new division launched and all the fanfare that has come with it!
And, just like RJR’s other fabrics, these Cotton + Steel fabrics feel so nice! I’m also working on making Norah a dress out of some Mustang by Melody Miller for Cotton + Steel and I know it will be a dream to wear {maybe i need to make myself one!}.
Based on the sewing community’s response, I think we’re going to see a lot more Cotton + Steel in the future, and after having worked with it, even just this little bit, you’ll be seeing more of it around here too!
Now, this quilt is off to a quilty friend who’s been waiting far too long for it! I’m so glad it’s done and I”m hoping to keep things going at a little better pace now that the summer race {and relaxation} is over. What are you hoping to get accomplished this fall?
What have I accomplished…..hm. Pretty much nothing! Karina started Kindergarten and Elena started preschool, so it’s just been kind of getting used to a new routine and figuring out how to deal with missing Karina so much all day but not letting Elena feel overlooked. I’m hoping once we have a routine set, I can have a tiny little bit of time to do some fun stuff for myself, but I always have big dreams and I’ll just have to see if they pan out.
I’m glad you have had a chance to do some sewing!
