Restored 316 Designs, WordPress, & WooCommerce
With more indie pattern designers moving to WordPress, and since I just gave our blog a little bit of a facelift, it seemed now was a good time to address some of the e-mail questions I’ve received about our website on WordPress and what we use. Our blog is set up on a Theme by Restored 316 Designs, which utilizes the Genesis Framework. All of the themes at Restored 316 Designs are really beautiful, so far I’ve used three different ones, Craftiness, Simply Luxe, and now Sprinkle. Each theme is so detailed and easy to modify, not to mention mobile responsive. If you’re looking for more information on setting up a WordPress blog, Restored 316 Designs also has some helpful information and resources.
Our shop is run on WooCommerce, which is a free plugin available for WordPress. It is fairly easy to use and customize, though it has the occasional glitch {like when we had a pattern sale after an update and none of the patterns were automatically sent! oops!}, but as long as you’re attentive to your shop, it is pretty easy to notice if things are going wrong. The only drawback is that shipping seems difficult to customize, if you’re sending physical products. Visit site here.
I have done all our blog moving and customization myself, it took a good amount of time and some web searching, but it wasn’t too bad. Using the Genesis Framework and the Restored 316 Designs themes made it much easier than it would have been without. I hope this helps you out if you’re planning to make the move to WordPress.

I’d forgotten about Woo!! Gah, why didn’t I remember earlier?! Oh well, better late than never! Also, is it easy to change themes?? I’ve been eying off a couple of new ones…
The blog looks beautiful and your hard work is definitely showing! Your mom’s instagram has some really lovely pictures of you and the baby on it right now. I just saw one on the side and it was adorable.
Your new blog looks beautiful, and your gorgeous patterns are shown perfectly……well done!
