Baby Skirt & Bibs

It must be the season of life I’m in, but it seems like everyone is having babies lately!  So I made this little baby skirt out of some Honey, Honey by Kate Spain and I think it turned out so cute!

I used french seams to finish all the edges, and am happy with the way they turned out {I made it like this skirt I made Norah a couple years ago}.  I added a little piece of ribbon in the back too, to make it obvious which side is back {not that it really matters, but I did hem the side seams toward the back}, and I think it adds a cute touch.

I also made these two little baby bibs for a friend who is having twin boys!  I used some Shannon Terry Cloth on the back because it’s so cute and soft.

And, I couldn’t make all those baby things without making my own baby a bib too.  I backed hers with pink terry and quilted it with my favorite Aurifil 3660 pink vegetated thread.  I find that quilting the bibs helps them come out of the wash without looking too crinkly, as seems to happen with cotton bibs when washed.

But, I know you’re looking at the baby, not the bib!  She’s almost five months old, I cannot believe the time has passed so quickly.  I am planning to make a couple skirts for her too, once the weather warms up a little bit, just in case she moves up to the next size in the meantime {since it seems like it is going to be cold forever!}.  At least I get to spend them inside with all my little cuties.

Just love the way that you used french seams to finish all the edges for the skirt and also the baby bibs, they are really adorable. Before I forget to say this, your little darling is really cute.
