A Mini Scrappy Quilt {And A Block}

Look what came in my mailbox. It is my first lovely bee block from Donna! Isn’t it so pretty?! (Love that red heart print)

Perfect colors too! Thank you Donna!

While trying to make progress on some other larger things, I have taken a little detour and decided in honor of Valentine’s Day I would make a pixelated heart mini. I have seen several in blogland and on instagram, they are all cute!!  I think it will find a home hanging on the wall in my sewing room. Hearts are for all year long!

The squares are 2 1/2″. I used pinks and reds for the heart and several text prints and low volume prints for the background. I am going to try to make a little quilt sandwich and finish it this afternoon. It is finishing up quickly and I need that right now!!

Hope you are sewing something you are enjoying today!

  1. Actually I am sewing the exact ‘heart’ pattern into a little pillow for my granddaughter. My pattern called for 3.5 squares, but I was going to change it to 2.5 sq to fit the little pillow form. Guess what! I was so excited that I had time to sew today that I had everything cut out into 3.5 sq before I realized it…. – so now I made a table topper for myself from the bigger one.
    Yours looks lovely – enjoy and also the Log Cabin Block sent to you. Such beautiful Fabric in both!

  2. I love the background colours in your heart. I made one this afternoon to make into a cushion for my husband, I used some mini charms of La Belle Fleur by French General set into a plain cream background.
