The Penelope Purse {Pattern Release}
I’m excited to let you know that our latest pattern, the Penelope purse, is available for download! I worked with some great testers to make sure this pattern is ready, and I’d love to show your their versions of the bag too!
First is the bag made by Deanna of Little D and Me. I really like how she used pebble quilting and contrasting thread on her bag, it adds so much style and texture! Oh, and Deanna has some amazing quilt blocks on her blog today too…
Sandi at crazy’boutquilts made this pretty black, gray and red version. I really like how the red stands out. She also has a great quilt finish here!
Linda of Sew Linda Ann made this cute purse out of a Botany jelly roll and some pretty emerald green solid. She also has some really cute things in her Flickr photostream, like this typewriter mug rug!
And Shanna of Sparrow In Flight made this pretty bag. I like the way she used the same color binding as the top fabric in the bag! She blogged about her purse here, and you can see some of her quilts in progress here!
So, if you’re inspired to make one of these yourself, you can find the PDF pattern here. This pattern has two printed pieces, and includes a download sized for A4 paper for our international friends. Happy sewing!
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your test team. This is a wonderful pattern!
Hi Jennie! This new bag is so pretty! I have so many new things to sew, drats! I want to make this one too! Ken is mailing a box with some goodies for Lydia tomorrow. XOXOXO for the whole family.
This was the first time I have tested a pattern and I really enjoyed the process. I LOVE the bag, and plan on making several more as gifts. Thank you for including me in the process. I plan on checking out everyone’s bags, they all did such beautiful work!
This is a really cute bag!
How fun to see all the various bags from the same pattern! The pleat and zipper are so stylish!
Hi, I’m looking for inspiration using jelly rolls to create handbags. Is this pattern one that uses jelly rolls? I got several for Christmas this year and am developing a handbag that also works as a hands-free walker bag and am looking at ways people use the jelly rolls to create THEIR bags. Thanks so much for the inspiration! Nikki
