The Retreat Tote {Pattern in American Quilter Magazine}
First up, I want to thank everyone for the kind comments on my baby announcement! We love our newest little girl and are all {slowly} adjusting to our life as a family of five!
Now, in all the chaos of the past couple weeks, we completely forgot to show you our latest pattern: the Retreat tote. It features quilted hourglass blocks that utilize fat quarters or larger scraps.
This is a roomy bag that is perfect for taking on quilt retreat, to a guild meeting, or any other vacation you may have planned. But, the most exciting part about this bag?
It is our first magazine published project! You can find it in the November issue of American Quilter Magazine. Seeing it on the store shelf in Target was really too exciting! Good thing I had my family with me, or I think I’d have been tempted to show some random person.
I had plenty more planned to say, but my little ones keep interrupting, so I’ll just say that working with the staff at American Quilter was a fabulous experience, and we’re thrilled to share this latest project with you!
I LOVE that bag pattern! So thorough and I really want to make it! It was a great pattern to work with!
WOW!! Super bag pattern! It’s not a magazine I normally buy but I think I will be stopping at Joann’s to pick it up! I could use a new tote bag. 😉
And another congratulations is in order for your first magazine project! Lovely bag pattern. I think there is a magazine purchase in my future!
Yay for having your project in a magazine! And for sweet babies! I know you are adjusting but loving every minute. Oh how I just love little babies…
Congrats on the magazine feature…and I love the fabrics in the second bag!

Well done you! Congratulations.
Absolutely love the bag and will be getting the magazine so I can have it as well …. unless you are going to be selling the pattern!
Also, late in saying this but congratulations on the newest addition to your beautiful family. I had 3 under 3 yrs. old (added 2 more a few years down the road) and appreciate the time you take for the blog. Soooo busy!! Now I love and enjoy my grandchildren and one great-grandson. Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!
Not sure how I missed the announcement about the new little one, but congratulations a bit late!
The bag looks great! I will be on the lookout for the magazine. 🙂

Oh I love this bag. How roomy and versatile. I could envision it as a diaper bag even. Or a overnight bag .
Congratulations and the bag is beautiful!!!! I have to admit that when I am in a store and see one of the magazines that have your bag pictured in an RJR ad, I open it and show people I don’t know. You have no idea how proud of you and excited for you both I am! XOXOX
