a season by handHeather and Megan from Quilt Story are our next guests. They are sisters who share their blog and business long distance {kind of like us}. They feature tons of great quilts from around the internet, as well as share quilt alongs and sell patterns in their shop.  They’re the hosts of the Fabric Tuesday linky, where quilters and sewers from around the internet can share the projects they’ve created using fabric {our favorite thing, of course!}.

Hi there! We are Heather and Megan from Quilt Story, a blog and business we share as long distance. We both always wanted mermaid tails for swimming as kids so this one warms our hearts.

We love hoop art embroidery. This is a fun pattern because you can try different stitches in the little deer quilt.

It is also fun to create little mini quilts with embroideries. I love to use heat and bond and add fabric inside of the embroidery shapes. Cuteness!

Megan and I also love to sew clothes for our kids, so fun to see your sweet ones in your creations.

Most of what we love is quilting. We could sew and quilt all day long!  Currently we are doing a Quilt a Long with the above pattern, it is not too late to join in here.

Here is one of our quilt patterns, Dottie, that was a fun one to make. We used the Sarah Jane fabric Out to Sea for this quilt. Heather was so in love with this fabric, and that is what inspired the embroidery we have a tutorial for today.

  1. I love embroidery and never thought of adding embroidery highlights to fabric patterns. Thank you for the inspiration. I love your embroidery!!

  2. Thirty-five years ago the embroideries-in-a-hoop were all the rage and I still have one my son made. It’s totally wonderful to see them coming back though I wish I’d not donated some of my unused wooden hoops!!! Thanks for your tutorial; the fusible fleece was a great idea.

  3. I really like your quilt pattern! I heart rainbows. The others are great too.I’m terrible with words, but modern quilting means using non-traditional patterns and colors/fabrics. (i.e. Not your grandma’s quilt stuff – no bear claws or baskets, etc.)Thanks for the chance to win.
