Patchwork Pumpkin & Maple Leaf Pillow :: Lovely Little Patchwork Blog Tour
I’m excited to share my project for Kerri Horsley’s {@sewdeerlyloved} Lovely Little Patchwork book. I was excited to receive an advanced copy of Kerri’s book, and I loved it so much, I blogged about it once before too. Kerri’s book is filled with “18 Projects to Sew Through the Seasons”, back in the spring I sewed a drawstring bag using the paper pieced tulip from the book:
Now that fall is rolling around {we’re having cooler weather of the upper 80s in New Mexico, hehe}, I browsed through the fall projects and and settled on the Patchwork Pumpkin & Maple Leaf Placemat. But, instead of a placemat, I decided to make the patchwork into a pillow for my home.
When it comes to fall colors though, I find that my stash is pretty lean {it was a stretch to find enough oranges for the patchwork}. But, I did have this gorgeous orange print that I purchased from a destash because it was so pretty, but had never made it’s way into my sewing. I think it made the perfect backing.
Now, even in the heat, I’m ready for a little fall. Want to make your own pillows for the season? Check out my two part video for adding a zipper closure to a pillow.

I love to use seasonal pillow to update my house, especially when they’re easy to change!
I love the project!!!
Wow. I really like your blog. We all need sleep to feel refreshed and alert. A good pillow is playing a very important role for a better sleep. Last week I have seen a website (findtheessenceofjoy.com). I have bought some good and stylish pillows for my sweet bedroom from this store. I am waiting for your next blog.
