Stitching Hexagons
While searching for a project to  finish, I came across a section of hexagons that I had sewn and quilted and was ready to go. I measured it and it was just the right fit for a pillow form { 12″ x 16″} that I already had. I made an envelope back with three buttons.
Pillows are on my list of things to make. There are so many really cute pillows on blogs everywhere. Many different ideas to choose from!!
I started these 1″ hexies yesterday, now I can’t stop. Every time I walk past my sewing room I find more fabric to use, then I make a couple more. I am doing them the traditional way with papers and thread. I have seen a few different ways to make them. Amy uses a mylar template and bottle of glue, or I have seen them made using a glue pen or glue stick. The last time I made them I used wax paper, ironed them and then stitched them, that also seems to work really well. Maybe when I run out of papers I will try another method.
I have taken over the coffee table in our family room. Thankfully no one seems to mind. They sure are fun to make and look at. I am now looking at my scraps and 2 1/2″ strips differently. It will be really exciting when I have to look for a larger container to hold them.
I hope today is going well for you, I am doing a little sewing and a little house work, you know laundry, prep for dinner, some vacuuming.
I am currently obsessed with English paper piecing! I love your hexagon pillow. So cute!
Oh I love your hexie pillow, it’s so pretty! You have made a nice new batch of paper pieced hexies there too…..it certainly is addictive, isn’t it? I shall be taking lots of hexies to the seaside with me next week!

Clara, that pillow is gorgeous!! I agree, hexies are so amazingly addictive! 🙂
I’m on a hexie binge right now, too. I bought two matching charm packs, to cut into 2 1/2″ squares. The two matching charms give me 8 squares – six for a flower, and two left for centers on other flowers, or miscellaneous other projects. Having a great time with it!
Love! the pillow! Thanks for sharing.
I made some hexis out of that same fabric and created a bag for my daughter’s piano books. She loves the prints – she adores the bag! Hexis are addictive!!
Sweet pillow! 🙂
Your pillow is outstanding! Your color choices are beautiful and bright. Looks like you are having a great summer.
Your pillow is really cute. I’m glad you’re back to sewing. You have been missed.
Aren’t those hexies addicting? I love them…and my next couple of projects are going to be with them. Your pillow is beautiful! 🙂
Such a cute pillow! I bought a package of paper templates and you’ve inspired me to open them and make a stack of hexies! xoxo
What a cute pillow!!! And I love all the fabrics you have in your box, too. Hexies are on my “wish list” of projects to do, but I haven’t gotten to them yet. They look so fun! ~Angela~
such a pretty pillow, and love your box full of hexies 🙂
Oh what a pretty pillow, so sweet. I love all your hexies. They are like chips to me you just cannot stop at one!

Gorgeous hexis. The pillow looks fabulous. I am also a hexi addict.
I have some joined hexies from another project. Perhaps this is what I could do?
Sweet as can be. I admire hexie projects since I don’t do them myself.
Oh, I love it!! So sweet and love all the pretty prints!! Hexies are so fun!! xo Heather
Oh, soooooo pretty! I might have to make a great pillow like that!
Love your pillow and your lovely collection of beautifully worked hexes all ready to go x

Ohhhhh…I love your fabric choices for your hexies!
I am holding myself back from starting another hexie project until my hexie quilt is done, but it is so hard! Some of my other fabric is calling out to be made into hexies, too!
They look sooo cute 🙂
