Today we’re welcoming Annette from My Rose Valley. Annette is just lovely, and I think you’ll find her blog full of lovely inspiration as well! She has a bunch of tutorials on crochet, patchwork, and even paper crafts, so I think a visit to her tutorials page is a must. And, she has a yarn shop as well, in case you also have a yarn stash {have I ever mentioned that I’m a closet yarn hoarder?}. Annette is currently in Switzerland, and it is so neat to gather inspiration from around the world! Enjoy her post!

Hi everyone! I am Annette from the blog My Rose Valley. I am a passionate crocheter, designer, aspiring patchwork crafter and person who cherish a simple and homespun lifestyle in the Swiss countryside.
I am delighted to be here and feel very lucky to have been invited to Clover & Violets beautiful corner of blog land. Thank you so much. Most of you might be into patchwork and sewing but I am hoping to inspire you to try your hands on another wonderful craft – crochet.
Summer is crochet time for me. The sewing machine stands untouched collecting dust while I drag my crochet project with me everywhere. It is the most convenient craft ever in my opinion. All you need is a hook and a ball of yarn, a small scissor and a tapestry needle to fasten off your ends and VOILA – you are ready to bring your crafts wherever you go.
I usually pack my hooky projects in small string bags, each one filled with a different WiP – Sweet Hearts, Maybelle Squares, Daisy Squares, Shawl – easy to just grab and throw in my beach bag, pic-nic basket or to bring on the flight to my holiday destination – Home Sweet Home Sweden.
Today I am sharing my Sweet Heart Pattern with you, which is great fun for any holiday trip, long or short. A perfect beginner project as well as they are so easy and quick to make and the satisfaction level is super high when you fasten off your last thread. I make them into garlands or hang them on door knobs, include them in Get Well cards or decorate gifts, clothes or bags with them. Once you start making these hearts it will be difficult to stop. 😀
For more fun and free crochet patterns and inspiration, visit my blog My Rose Valley. And as I am a huge yarn addict I have to spread the great news that I have just opened my own My Rose Valley Yarn Shop with not less then 50 different shades of my favorite Swedish Tilda yarn, the same yarn as you see in all these pictures. Welcome to order your favorite colors for your Sweet Heart project.
Thank you for coming to visit my guest post today. I was really nervous about this. I hope I’ve done well and I hope I’ve inspired you to try out some hooking. Let me know how you will do and if you need any advice or have any questions regarding my Sweet Heart Pattern, please let me know.
Have a lovely summer.
Kärlek
Annette

I’m already an avid hooker, but I love the hearts, thank you so much for the pattern!
Oh I love your hearts! As soon as I saw the first photo I was hoping you might share the pattern, thank you! I love crochet, I was working on a little baby blanket this morning in the garden, before it got too hot to be outside. I’m off to your blog to nose around and look at more pretty photos 🙂
Just lovely to see your crocheted hearts, etc. What a neat idea to have a few different bags with a different project to grab.
These little hearts are so sweet. I could get hooked on making them. I really need to learn to crochet!

A lovely post Annette, and your pictures look so inviting how could anyone resist wanting to jump right into heart making at once? I love your list of ways to use them too, very inventive. You’ve got me thinking….!

I love to crochet and have been enjoying it for many years. Your blog is wonderful…Thank you for the beautiful patterns and inspiration.
Love these little hearts! I haven’t crocheted in years, but got out a book and made one of your hearts last night. Now I just need to find finer gauge yarn and a hook to go with it so I can make them smaller than mine turned out. Thanks for sharing.
Hi
Thank you!!! SO happy to hear you have given them a go already. I personally think they do best with a light DK weight yarn. Good luck finding the perfect yarn for your next trial. That can be a very fun task too actually, go yarn shopping!!!
