Made for Baby Blog Tour

I’m excited to share my project for the Made for Baby Blog Tour. Ayda of  the blog Cafe Nohut has a darling new book, Made for Baby, filled with baby projects designed so that anyone can make them.

As you may know, I’m really fond of fabric baskets, so I couldn’t resist the cute little pocket basket in the book. I really loved the way Ayda used a light fabric for the outside and then a bolder print for the lining, which wraps over the top.

Instead of a ribbon for the top of the pocket decoration, I used the cute selvage as my decorative trim and I love it! The cute pocket was really what drew me to this basket.

I admit the basket was a lot larger than I was anticipating at first, but I think it is perfect for storing toys, diapers, burp cloths, swaddles, or other larger items. I used Pellon® Flex Foam® for the stabilizer, because I had it handy, but I think in the future I’d go for the stabilizer method she used in the book, as this was a bit more floppy than I’d prefer (though, maybe it won’t matter when the basket is in use!).
