the Pepper tote {Free Pattern}
We’re excited to release a free pattern today: the Pepper tote! This fun, quick tote has an exposed zipper, interior pockets, and sews up quick! The sides have a gentle angle instead of a regular square tote shape, which I think gives it a little more style!
Download the Pepper tote here.
For this tote I used Moda Cross Weave in Aqua. I had a couple yards of it that I’d picked up for some other {long forgotten} project, and it seemed to go really well with the Wishes by Sweetwater for Moda.The bag has two finishing options, bound as shown above, and a turned option, like the image below.
The turned bag features hexagons from Anna Maria Horner’s Folk Song collection and Essex Linen in Yarn Dyed Black. You can read more about this version here.
I appliqued a few hexagons from a Moda Honeycomb pack we’d had for a while too, it is always fun going through fabrics and finding a great use for things!
Thank you for this free pattern, Jennie. I just might attempt it :)! I know both my girls would love this bag. I just love the colors and hexagon patches you used.
So pretty! Thank you for offering the free pattern, I am looking forward to trying it soon. XOXOX
Thanks a million for such a sweet pattern!
Nicely done! Thanks so much for sharing the pattern with us!
To Jennie and Clara,
Thank you so much for sharing such a lovely and adorable bag design with plenty of style!!!. I have of course downloaded the pattern which also appears very well written. I will be making this pattern soon for a number of my friends. Simply because it is a bag with punch! Once I’ve made my copy of your bag. I will be very happy to post my pictures when all done. Thanks once again and happy quilting. Julie Beard from Adelaide, South Australia
Thank you so much for the free tote pattern, it is gorgeous!! The fabrics are gorgeous, my favorite color 🙂
Love this bag. What are the dimensions of the finished bag? Thank you.
Thank you so much for such beautiful patterns! It’s an honor to get to have these knowledge for free specially because I’m unemployed and can’t afford them.

Jennie, I loved the hangbags! Beautilful and it’s funny because sometimes we can’t find this models. Or we find huge handsbags or too small and this is style that fits perfetcly! Thanks for sharing this information! I wish you a lot of success!
